In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NOW Society completed technical research to develop a professional live streaming system with a technical team of emerging and established sound engineers. This resulted in our ability to stream events, including our new project, TV8E. TV8E programs present a show, reminiscent of the 1970’s Electric Company TV show and David Lynch’s live weather updates. There is a NOW commissioned animated opening by Marv Newland and Angela Meyers with a theme song composed by Lisa Cay Miller and performed by the NOW Society ensemble and live improvisations interspersed with commissioned films. Episodes can be presented in varied ways allowing for the safest possible presentations; our TV8E program is designed so that it can be responsive.
